Two awards were received in 2026: City of North Vancouver’s Living City Award for Zero Waste & City of Burnaby’s Environmental Star Award for Business Stewardship.
We are delighted to celebrate Craftsman Collision’s two environmental awards in 2026 – from both the City of North Vancouver and the City of Burnaby – for recognition in sustainability and environmental leadership in zero waste and business stewardship categories.
In partnership with Reclaim Plastics, Craftsman Collision initiated an automotive parts recycling program, where end-of-life vehicle (ELV) scraps – including bumpers, headlights, fender liners, underbody shields, door handles and windshields – are properly separated and collected at their autobody shop locations, so that Reclaim Plastics can decontaminate, separate the polymers, process and recycle these automotive parts at its facility in Burnaby, diverting them from the landfill.
To-date, Craftsman Collision and Reclaim Plastics have diverted more than 690,000 pounds of automotive waste from BC’s landfills.
“Let’s do more!” said Mark Greenberg, Vice President of Business Development of Craftsman Group of Companies, after he accepted the award on behalf of his team.
This program began in 2019, commencing first in the Lower Mainland, but has now grown province-wide, including BC’s Interior, Northern BC and Vancouver Island. Plans for an Albertan expansion are underway.
The Living City Awards Program recognizes outstanding leadership in environmental sustainability within the City of North Vancouver, celebrating community champions that inspire others to take extraordinary actions to protect the natural world. Award recipients can be nominated for leadership within one of the seven categories: energy conservation, environmental protection & enhancement, zero waste, sustainable transportation, urban agriculture, water conservation,and education and awareness. Craftsman was one of a select few award recipients included in the zero waste category.
City of Burnaby’s Environmental Star Award recognizes small achievements that inspire bigger projects or initiatives. Its categories include business stewardship, communications, community stewardship, green choices, planning and development, and youth. Craftsman Collision was awarded an Environmental Star in business stewardship for its automotive parts recycling program, specifically looking at its three locations in Burnaby, but recognizing the province-wide pilot program spans 20 locations across BC, and is expanding into Alberta. Craftsman Collision is the largest auto body chain in BC to adopt such a program, and has been recognized for championing this large-scale recycling initiative.
